Description
Description
Hino DX3 and DX2 Diagnostic Explorer software helps truck repair shops, fleet technicians and independent mechanics diagnose supported Hino commercial vehicles from a Windows laptop. Use it to read and clear diagnostic trouble codes, monitor and graph live data, run active tests and perform supported service functions through a compatible RP1210 diagnostic adapter.
Both Hino DX3 and the legacy Hino DX2 (DXII) application are included. We install and configure the software remotely via TeamViewer and provide technical support after installation.
Important compatibility note: For North American vehicles, Hino states that DX3 supports Hino cab and chassis electrical systems from model year 2005 to present and Hino engines from 2005 through 2021. DX3 does not communicate with Cummins engine ECUs. For engine diagnostics on a Hino truck equipped with a Cummins engine, use Cummins INSITE diagnostic software. DX3 may still be required for supported Hino cab and chassis modules.
Hino DX3 Diagnostic Software Functions
- Read and clear DTCs from supported vehicle control modules
- View, record and graph live data from multiple sensors and parameters
- Run active tests and component activation where the ECU supports the function
- Perform DPR/DPF and SCR service procedures supported by the vehicle
- Reset learned values and maintenance data when the selected ECU permits it
- Carry out injector calibration, fuel priming and related engine service functions on supported Hino engines
- Change supported vehicle parameters, including selected PTO, idle, speed and protection settings
- Save diagnostic sessions and reports for shop records and troubleshooting
Available tests, adjustments and programming functions vary by truck, model year, market, ECU and access level. Module programming is not guaranteed and may require separate manufacturer credentials or an active subscription.

Hino DX3 vs. DX2 vs. Cummins INSITE
| Software | Best use | Important note |
|---|---|---|
| Hino DX3 | Supported newer Hino vehicle systems, Hino engines and cab/chassis electronics | Does not communicate with a Cummins engine ECU |
| Hino DX2 (DXII) | Earlier and legacy Hino applications that require the previous Diagnostic Explorer platform | Exact coverage depends on model, year and market |
| Cummins INSITE | Cummins engine diagnostics, including Hino trucks fitted with a Cummins engine | Use DX3 separately for supported Hino cab/chassis systems |

No. Hino states that DX3 cannot communicate with Cummins engine ECUs. Use Cummins INSITE for the Cummins engine. DX3 can still be useful for supported Hino cab and chassis systems.
Does Hino DX3 include Hino DX2?
Yes. This listing includes both DX3 and DX2/DXII so the appropriate application can be used for supported newer or legacy Hino vehicles.
Can Hino DX3 perform a forced DPR or DPF regeneration?
DX3 provides supported aftertreatment service functions, including regeneration-related procedures on applicable vehicles. Availability depends on the engine, ECU, model year and current vehicle conditions.
Can it program or reflash Hino modules?
Some programming functions may be available with the proper manufacturer access. This listing does not guarantee online programming credentials, subscriptions or calibration files. Contact us with the exact task before ordering.
Which NEXIQ adapter should I use?
NEXIQ USB-Link 3 is the current interface offered by Hino for DX3. USB-Link 2 and other supported RP1210 adapters may also work when the correct driver and vehicle cable are installed.
How do I confirm coverage before buying?
Send us the Hino model, model year, market and engine type. If possible, include the VIN and the diagnostic adapter you plan to use.
