If you run Kenworth or Peterbilt trucks, PACCAR ESA is the software that speaks their language. Here is what it does and what you need to run it.
What is PACCAR ESA?
PACCAR ESA (Electronic Service Analyst) is the official dealer-level diagnostic software for PACCAR vehicles — Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks and the PACCAR MX engine family. It reads faults, monitors live data, runs tests and handles the vehicle's electronic systems.
What can you do with PACCAR ESA?
- Read and clear fault codes across the vehicle and engine
- View live data and monitor parameters in real time
- Run diagnostic tests and service routines
- Work with vehicle electronics and multiplexing on Kenworth and Peterbilt
- Access PACCAR MX engine diagnostics and programming
Which trucks and engines does it cover?
- Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks
- PACCAR MX-13 and MX-11 engines
- Related vehicle electronic systems
What adapter do you need?
PACCAR ESA connects through an RP1210-compliant adapter such as a Nexiq USB-Link or Noregon DLA+. The adapter is separate hardware and is not included.
About the software files
ESA is often supplied with a set of software/flash files used for programming. Having the correct, up-to-date files matters for reprogramming work, so it is worth confirming the version you are getting covers your trucks.
