What adapter do you need?

Service Advisor connects to the machine through a compatible John Deere interface (adapter). The adapter is separate hardware and is not included with the software. Supported options:

• EDL v1 / v2 (USB and Bluetooth) — the older Electronic Data Link adapters. Still supported by Service Advisor, though no longer produced.
• EDL v3 (USB and Bluetooth) — the later Electronic Data Link, also still supported.
• USB-Link 3 (USB and Bluetooth) — the newest interface, supported in the current Service Advisor versions.

Do I get both the Agriculture and Construction editions?

Yes. Unlike sellers who split AG and CF into two separate paid products, this package includes both editions installed on your PC — so you're covered for tractors, combines, sprayers and forage as well as excavators, dozers, loaders and forestry machines.

Will Service Advisor 5.4.84 work on Windows 11?

Yes. Service Advisor 5.4.84 runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). It does not run on ARM laptops such as Snapdragon-based machines.

Is this the latest database?

Yes. This is the 2026 release with the most recent diagnostics and technical manuals available for both AG and CF.

What hardware do I need to connect to a machine?

A John Deere EDL v1, v2 or v3, or a USB-Link 3 adapter. The software on its own gives you manuals, diagnostic data and DTAC; the adapter is what physically links your PC to the equipment.

Can I reprogram controllers?

Diagnostics, live readings, calibrations and interactive tests work fully. Certain factory reprogramming functions can require valid John Deere dealer credentials. Tell us your use case before buying and we'll confirm exactly what's possible for your equipment.

What is the difference between the AG and CF editions?

AG covers agricultural equipment — tractors, combines, sprayers, planters and forage. CF covers construction and forestry — excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, skidders and harvesters. This package includes both, so you don't have to choose.

What is DTAC?

DTAC is John Deere's dealer technical assistance database: a searchable library of real solved cases. When you hit a fault that the manual doesn't explain, DTAC usually shows you how another technician fixed it.

How fast do I get it?
