ZF Meritor TransSoft 2.1 — FreedomLine & SureShift Diagnostic Software

ZF Meritor TransSoft 2.1 is the diagnostic and calibration software for ZF Meritor FreedomLine and SureShift automated transmissions. It's the tool technicians use to read fault codes, monitor transmission parameters in real time, adjust calibrations and log data for hard-to-find intermittent faults — everything needed to diagnose and repair these transmissions accurately.

Includes both FreedomLine Diagnostics and SureShift Diagnostics modules.

What TransSoft Does

• Read active and inactive fault codes — double-click any code for troubleshooting, installation and removal procedures
• Real-time monitoring of all transmission parameters
• Multiple graphing options for live data
• Data logging — create log files to analyze intermittent issues
• Calibration changes & verification — required when the engine make/model changes, a PTO is installed, and similar modifications
• Save or print codes and programming info for email or records

• ZF Meritor FreedomLine (automated manual transmission)
• ZF Meritor SureShift (automated transmission)

Communicates over the SAE J1587 and SAE J1939 diagnostic protocols.

Approved Diagnostic Adapters

ZF Meritor requires an approved adapter to connect TransSoft to the vehicle:

• Snap-On Magikey PDM (drivers v2.7.1 or greater)
• Noregon DLA / Data Link Adapter (drivers v1.9.4 or greater)
• Noregon PLC adapter (v2.1 or greater — some functionality may be limited)
• Dearborn DPA (v2.8 or greater)

Note: the Dearborn DPA has been reported to struggle during SureShift testing under typical in-vehicle bus loads — for SureShift work a Noregon DLA is the safer choice. The adapter is not included and must be purchased separately; ask us which one suits your job.
